How do tryouts work?
This year, we are litigating the case of Felder v. Koller Campbell Air LLC. Attorneys will give a 4 minute opening statement, and then have the choice of crossing either Shannon Shahid (character witness) or Drew Hubbard (expert witness) for 4 minutes. Afterwards, each attorney will choose a prompt and give an argumentative speech for roughly a minute with a couple of follow-up questions by our selection committee.
For witnesses, they can choose to portray Shannon Shahid (character witness), Drew Hubbard (expert witness) or Ari Felder (sympathetic witness) for their tryout. Each witness will participate in a 4 minute direct by one of our attorneys; the questions for the direct have been pre-released and each witness is expected to create their own answers. Afterwards, the witness will be crossed for 3 minutes by an opposing attorney. As part of the witness tryout, our selection committee values a well-developed personality for the character.
